We live in the Milky Way Galaxy. A galaxy is a collection of spiraling space objects, such as suns, planets, gases and dust. On really clear nights in areas away from the lights of the city, the portion of the Milky Way closest to Earth can be seen with the naked eye. It makes the night sky look milky.
